Hi There, my name is Ryan Nisbet.

I love to go fishing, scuba diving and doing activities in the ocean.
I'm married to a lovely Japanese lady and I have two children.
My son is eight and his name is Rei, my daughter Chikais only one year old ( in 2009 ).

I'm a software engineer by trade, but I only write a little software in Japan and teach more english!
Teaching english is more fun because people have opinions to talk about, but computers don't !


I was born in singapore in 1975 ( in a tent ), but I grew up in Auckland Newzealand.
You may know that NewZealand has millions of sheep... that's true !
But, we don't keep sheep as pets,they are for eating only !
NewZealand and Japan are very similar. If you look at NZ on a world map, you will see that Japan and NZ are about the same size.
Also, you will see that NZ andJapan are positioned in very similar northern and southern lattitudes... and we share the Pacific ocean.
Because of this we have the same fish in the ocean and similar weather over the seasons.
Other things Japan and NewZealand share are : mountains, earthquakes, lots of islands, loving to eat fresh seafood... and lots more.

NZ is very multicultural, there are all colors and types of people in the cities, but almost
nobody in the country side! NZ's main business is the export of agricultutral products, but
we also produce very high quality sailing boats and luxury boats.

If you visit NZ please remember these things:
- the weather is a lottery, it may be clear blue skies or an endless procession of grey dreary days.
- when you change your Yen to NZ dollars you get lots of NZ dollars.... EXCELLENT !
- you must try the natural style hot springs which are mainly in the north island
- sheep don't bite, but they do smell.
- if you want eat chinese food you won't need much money.
- if you want to eat at real sushi restaurants... you'll need mega-dollars !

Anyway, I've been living in Japan for five years now and I really enjoy it here in Nagoya.
I love the big cities and the clockwork ( on time ) train systems. I hope that you can
tell me a little about your Japan sometime.

やあ、こんにちは!!僕の名前はライアン・ニズビットです。
僕は釣りや、スキューバダイビングなど海でのアクティビティが大好きなんだ。
かわいい日本人女性と結婚していて、二人の子供がいるんだ。
8歳の息子レイと1才の娘チカっていうんだ。

僕は、ソフトウェア・エンジニアだけど、日本では少しのソフトウェアしか製作してないんだ。
今は英語を教えているよ。
エンジニアの仕事よりも英語の先生の方が楽しいよ!!だって人々はいろんな意見を交換できるけど、コンピュータはできないからね。

僕は1975年にシンガポールで生まれて（しかもテントで）、そしてニュージーランドで育ったんだ。
ニュージーランドにはとってもたくさんのヒツジがいると思ってるよね!?、、、そのとおりだよ!!
でも、ヒツジは食べる為だけで、ペットとして飼ってはいけないんだ。

ニュージーランドと日本は、とてもよく似ているんだ。
世界地図でニュージーランドを見てみると、日本と同じくらいの大きさってことに気付くと思うよ。
他にも、ニュージーランドと日本は南北の緯度が近いんだ。だから同じ魚がいたり、季節は違うけど同じような気候なんだ。
きれいな山々、地震があったり、島がたくさんあったり、生の魚介類を食べるのが好きだったり、他にもたくさん似ているところがあるんだ。

ニュージーランドはとても多文化な国なんだ。街にはいろんな国の人がいるんだ。でも、田舎には誰もいないけどね。
ニュージーランドの主なビジネスは農業生産物の輸出だけど、高性能な帆船や豪華な船を造ったりもしているんだ。

もし、ニュージーランドを訪れるなら次の事を覚えておいて：

-天気は運だよ。澄んだ青い空になるか、灰色の憂鬱な一日になるか。
-円からニュージーランドドルに両替すると、たくさんのドルが手に入るよ。すばらしい!!
-北の島々にあるナチュラルスタイルな温泉に入ってみて!!
-ヒツジは噛まないよ、匂いは嗅ぐけどね
-中華料理がとっても安く食べれるよ
-本物の寿司が食べたかったら、超高くつくよ

とにかく、僕は今5年間日本に住んでるけど、本当にここ名古屋で楽しんでいるよ。
大きい街や正確にくる電車システムも大好きだな。
いつか僕に日本について教えてよ！！

My home town

My home town is called Birmingham and is in the West Midlands of England.
It is quite a nice place to live and there you can meet many kinds of peaple, from all over the world. There is a large population
of Irish peaple there and it has been a custom, every year in mid March, to have a "St.Patrick's Day Parade."

Birmingham has Europe's largest shopping centre called "The Bulling" which was recently re-designed and is now possibly the most famous landmark in the city.

Author J.R.R. Tolkien was raised in Birmingham, with many locations in the city supposedly used as inspiratiion for his "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy.
As well as authors, there are many famous bands and musicians who come from Birmingham, too.
Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, UB40 and Duran Duran.



You can find a lot of diversity in the city, not just it's people, but also from it's buildings, showing off shiny glass and chrome, then cross the street and feel like you have gone back in time to the Victorian era.

My favorite thing about Birmingham has to be the food!! Because it's a city with people from differnt countries, you can find all kinds of things for all kinds of tastes. You can eat Indian, Chinese, Thai,Mexican,French, Italian and even Japanese food!!
If you ever go to England and try the food, don't leave before you've treated yourself to England's most famous dish: Fish & chips!!


The two most famous soccer teams to come from Birmingham are Birmingham City F.C. and Aston Villa F.C.
(Also,English people don't cll it Soccer. We call it Football!!)




私のホームタウンはバーミンガムと呼ばれ、イギリスの中西部に位置します。
バーミンガムは住むのにとても良い場所で、世界中の多くの人々と出会うことが出来ます。
アイルランド人の人口が多く、毎年３月中旬に行われるセントパトリックデーパレードは恒例行事となっています。

バーミンガムには”闘牛場”と呼ばれるヨーロッパ最大のショッピングセンターがあります。
最近再計画され、今では街でもっとも有名な建物になっています。

作家J.R.R. Tolkienは、バーミンガムで育ちました。
"ロード・オブ・ザ･リング”への思いつきはバーミンガムの町の多くの場所が使われたと言われています。
作家だけでなく、バーミンガム出身の有名なバンドや歌手も多くいます。
Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath, Judas Priest,UB40,　Duran Duranなど。

街には多くの多様性を見ることができます。人種だけでなく建物からも見受けられます。
ある１つの道を歩くと、モダンな建物の通路、きらびやかなガラスとクロムが引き立ちます。
そして、道を横切るとビクトリア時代へタイムスリップしたかのような気持ちになるでしょう。

私のバーミンガムでの好きなものは食べ物です!!
なぜなら、バーミンガムはそれぞれ違った国から来た人々の街なので、いろんな味の食べ物が見つかります。
インド料理、中華料理、タイ料理、メキシコ料理、イタリア料理、日本食も食べることが出来ますよ!!
もしいつかイギリスに行くことがあれば、それらの食べ物に挑戦してみて!!
イギリスで最も有名な料理”FISH & Chips"を楽しまないで帰ってこないで!!

バーミンガムには”Birmingham City F.C"とAston Villa F.C.の２つの有名なサッカーチームがあります。
(イギリス人はサッカーとは言わず、フットボールと言います!!)

About my home town,

My home town is called Toronto and is located in the middle of Canada. It is the biggest city in Canada and has people from many different countries. In Toronto you can eat many different kinds of foods. From chinese to indian to Ethiopean to greek food, almost any countries food can be found.

The weather is very severe in this part of Canada. The summers are quite warm and the temperature often reaches about 30degrees C. Its not humid like Japan though and the evenings are very cool and comfortable. The winter is another storey... Toronto winters can be very cold and snowy. Temperatures of minus 30 degrees are not unusual!

The land is made up of many cliffs and smooth rolling hills and valleys...there are a few small mountains but they are very small. the land is also very wide and most town are 30-40 kms apart. This is one big difference from Japan where town are often very close together.

My favourite thing about Toronto is the variety of people that live there. If you ride the subway its like a fruit salad of skin colours and face shapes. It always makes me feel that i live in a city that has connection to every country in the world.

私のホームタウンはトロントという都市で、カナダの中央部に位置しています。トロントはカナダ最大の都市であり、多くの異なる国から人々が集まっています。トロントでは、様々な種類の食べ物を食べることができます。中華料理からインド料理、エチオピア料理、そしてギリシャ料理に至るまで、ほとんどの国の料理に出会うことができます。
　カナダの中でもトロントがある地域の気候は大変厳しいです。夏はとても暖かく、気温が３０℃近くに達することもよくあります。しかし日本のように湿気はなく、夜は大変涼しくて快適です。冬の気候は夏とはまた違います・・・トロントの冬は大変寒く、たくさん雪が降ります。気温がマイナス３０℃となることも珍しくありません！
　トロントの地盤はたくさんのがけと起伏する丘陵、そして渓谷によって形成されています。小さな山もいくつかありますが、大変小さなものです。また、土地は広大で、ほとんどの町同士が３０〜４０kmほど離れています。これは、町と町が密接している日本と大きく異なる点の一つです。
　トロントに関して私が一番好きなことは、住んでいる人々の人種の多様さです。地下鉄に乗ると、まるでフルーツサラダを見るかのような様々な肌の色と顔の形に気づくことでしょう。こんな時決まって私は、世界のあらゆる国々と繋がる都市に自分はいるのだと感じるのです。

The Aborigines call the Gold Coast area “Kurrungul”
The Gold Coast is located on the East Coast of Australia in the
State of Queensland.
It is 100 km south of Brisbane and 850 km north of Sydney.
The Gold Coast has 44 km of beautiful beaches. The most famous
neighborhood is surfers Paradise. There are 8 theme parks on the Gold Coast. The most popular are: Movie World, Dreamworld and Seaworld. Also, there are about 5 zoos with many famous popular
Australian animals. The Gold Coast is a tourist economy, with
many restaurants, beaches, golf courses and an International
casino. Japanese tourist can fly directly to the local
Coolangatta Airport. The population of the Gold Coast is about
500,000 people.
You don’t have to tip in Australia.
The banks are open from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm.
The electricity in Australia is 240 volts.

アボリジニーはゴールドコースト一帯を「クルンガル（ブーメランの材料となる硬い木が豊かにある土地）」と呼びます。オーストラリアの東海岸、クイーンズランド州に位置するゴールドコーストは、ブリスベンの南100km、シドニーの北850kmの地点にあります。ゴールドコーストには44kmにも及ぶ美しいビーチがあります。近郊で一番有名なのはサーファーズ・パラダイスと呼ばれるエリアで、ゴールドコースト沿いに8つのテーマパークがあります。中でも人気があるのは、ムービーワールド、ドリームワールド、そしてシーワールドです。また、約5つある動物園では、たくさんの有名なオーストラリアの動物たちに会うことができます。ゴールドコーストはたくさんのレストランやビーチ、ゴルフコース、そして国際カジノを有する観光地帯です。日本からはクーランガッタ空港への直行便で行くことができます。ゴールドコーストの人口は約50万人です。

Dear students, parents, and staff of J.O.

First of all, please let me thank everyone for being so kind and helpful to me during my time at J.O. Although I have really enjoyed teaching here, I will be leaving J.O. at the end of July. I will be returning to Canada to enlist in the Canadian Air Force, and I plan to become a military intelligence officer.
I will be staying with my family on Vancouver Island, which is 1.5 hours by ferry from Vancouver. From the ferry, it takes about 2 hours by car to reach our house, which is next to the ocean. It's a very quiet and pretty place, with lots of nature! When I enlist, I will be training first in Montreal, then in Ontario, and other parts of Canada.
As well, the 2010 Winter Olympics are being held in Vancouver, so if you have the chance, please come!

生徒さんの皆様へ
　　みなさん、今までJO外語学院にいる間、優しく親切にしてくださり本当にありがとうございました。わたしはJO外語学院でみなさんに英語を教えることが本当に楽しかったです。実は７月末にJO外語学院を退職することになりました。今後はカナダへ帰国し、カナダの空軍に入り、軍隊の情報局員になるつもりです。
　　カナダに戻ったら、まずバンクーバー島で家族とともに暮らします。バンクーバー島はバンクーバーからフェリーで１時間半程かかります。フェリー場から車で２時間程運転すると、海の側にある家族が住んでいる家に到着します。そこにはたくさんの自然があり、とても静かで、きれいなところです。空軍に入ったら、カナダのモントリオールを始めオンタリオ、その他の地域で軍隊のトレーニングをすることになっています。
　　ところで、バンクーバーでは２０１０年冬季オリンピックが開催される予定です。もし機会があれば、ぜひバンクーバーに遊びに来てください。
